Tewa Horse Large Figurine The Trail of Painted Ponies Figurines are bringing the art and the collectible worlds together. Each figurine is inspired by an original Painted Pony and has been crafted with exquisite attention to detail. As such each figurine has an authenticity that makes it a miniature work of art in its own right. To date only twelve Painted Ponies have been crafted in this larger 9� size. Each is limited to an edition of 5000 and is cast in solid resin which gives them an impressive weight and size. They are a wonderful addition to any Painted Pony collection. Born to a family of artists and craftsmen from the Tesuque Pueblo in New Mexico Tom (a tribal policeman) wanted to incorporate some of the traditional images that have been handed down from generation to generation into a design that was contemporary in feeling and rich with symbolism. To do this he combined various animal abstractions with geometric patterns. The sash represents good fortune. The blanket honors the horse as a bold and strong being.
